People of the LGBTQ+ community are also human beings like us, but even today in our society they are viewed from a wrong perspective and their personality is questioned. 

Even today in our society, people question the personality of people belonging to the LGBTQ+ community without thinking about them. Various types of questions arise in people's mind about this community and they think that these people are not a part of the society. Sonali Chowkekar has made a mark in the society despite being transgender. During Pride Month, Harzindagi Hindi spoke to Sonali Chowkekar and tried to know her inspirational story. 

How has been your acceptance journey into the LGBTQ+ community and what challenges have you faced? 

Sonali Chowkekar said, "My acceptance journey in the LGBTQ+ community was full of difficulties. I faced many problems in the beginning but I had full faith in myself and my self-reflection which helped me to rise above those challenges. Mili. These things have given me the strength to be where I am today, working happily in a corporate field."

How do you think your experiences as an LGBTQ+ person have shaped your perspective as well as impacted your personal development?

Sonali Chowkekar tells Harzindagi, “My experiences as an LGBTQ+ person have deeply shaped and contributed to my perspective, as well as my personal growth. I am proud of my journey of growth. I was determined and so I worked hard to save money for my education and completed my graduation. The discrimination and challenges I faced along the way also gave me strength. Through this journey , I have learned to celebrate diversity, embrace authenticity and I can speak up for and against the rights of the LGBTQ+ community."

What challenges have you faced as LGBTQ+ and what challenges do you still face?

"I faced moments that tested my determination. These experiences, though challenging, included social discrimination, lack of acceptance from family and friends, limited access to education and employment opportunities, and lack of transgender rights, even Fighting for legal recognition of that identity. These were all some of the challenges I faced. I firmly believe that together, we can eliminate the barriers that stop us. Through collective efforts, we We can create a society where each individual is valued, respected and celebrated for his or her true identity."

Have you faced career barriers or discrimination? 

“I am grateful to have found a supportive and inclusive environment at Mindspace Business Park. They have embraced diversity and created an environment where individuals are valued for their talents, no matter who they are. My Because of my potential, I also created an environment that allowed me to thrive. By challenging stereotypes, educating others about transgender issues, and using my talent and dedication, I broke barriers and She continued to grow beyond her capabilities."

In your opinion, what misconceptions related to the LGBTQ+ community still exist in society? 

"There are many common misconceptions and stereotypes associated with the LGBTQ+ community. There are many misconceptions among people in the LGBTQ+ community regarding gender identity. In the society, people from the LGBTQ+ community are seen as separate individuals even though we are just like them . .It is important that people have an understanding of the LGBTQ+ community to challenge these perceptions."

What are your thoughts on the future of the LGBTQ+ community? 

“I envision a future for the LGBTQ+ community that is characterized by true equality and acceptance in all aspects of life. I look forward to a society where LGBTQ+ individuals can live without fear of discrimination or violence, Where our rights are protected and where we have access to education, employment, health care, legal aid. I wish for a future where diversity is celebrated and where the voices of the LGBTQ+ community are also heard and respected. " 

Sonali Chowkekar's journey was full of struggles, but she never gave up and by making herself strong and self-reliant, she presented herself as an example to everyone.
